Lions upset Railsplitters at home, 49-43
The Mars Hill women’s basketball team (7-10, 2-5 SAC) defeated Lincoln Memorial (11-3, 6-2 SAC) by a score of 49-43 Wednesday evening.
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's basketball team (7-10, 2-5 SAC) defeated Lincoln Memorial (11-3, 6-2 SAC) by a score of 49-43 Wednesday evening.
The Lions trailed 11-6 entering the second, but turned the tables, holding the Railsplitters to just five points in the frame. Leading the way for Mars Hill was Tateyoina Harris with nine points followed by five from Elyseia Brown. Harris led the Lions with six rebounds.
Lauren Flowers led Lincoln Memorial with seven points while Geovana Rios led the team with eight rebounds.
Lincoln Memorial outscored the Lions 18-8 in third with Sophie Henry's six points leading the way. Mars Hill, like they did in the third, responded by flipping the script, outscoring the Railsplitters 20-9.
Jo Snow led the Lions with eight points in the frame followed by five from Harris.
Harris led all players with 18 points and 15 rebounds for the double-double. Snow ended the contest with 11 while Brown added 10 on the night.
Mars Hill hosts Limestone on Saturday, January 20 when they face Limestone. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside Chambers Gymnasium.
