Mars Hill felled versus LMU

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (12-12, 6-7 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (14-6, 9-5 SAC) by a score of 91-63 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Railsplitters led 19-17 after the first quarter of play. Lauren Flowers led all players with nine points. Jo Snow led the Lions with eight points followed Elyseia Brown's four. In the second, LMU pulled away, outscoring the Lions 26-11. Jamyah Winter led all players with 11 points while Maddie Gillie netted seven of the team's points.
The third quarter saw the Lions outscore Lincoln Memorial 23-22 with Tateyoina Harris leading the way, both offensively and defensively for Mars Hill. She scored nine points while pulling down six rebounds. Alexa Smiddy went a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and hit her lone free throw attempt to score 13 points in the frame for the Railsplitters.
Smiddy once again led all players in the fourth, netting eight points as Lincoln Memorial closed out their 14th win of the season. She led all players with 25 points followed by Flowers' and Winters' 17 apiece.
Harris led the Lions with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the double-double. Three other starters ended the contest with double-digit points. Snow scored 13, Gillie added 10, and Aaliyah El netted 11 on the night.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, February 14 when they face Coker on the road. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
