Joseph Cottone (3-2) was given the loss after giving up eight runs on ten hits through six innings.
The Lions plated three in the first inning with hits coming from Zach Weaver, Kyle Jenkins, and Jordan Lathe, only to be followed by a Ruben Trillo solo shot to left-center in the bottom of the second to jump out to an early 4-1 lead. The Lions would go on to double their score over the next four innings of play, due to a defensive error by the Trojans and a Tyler Lala two-run homer down the left field line.
