MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill baseball team (14-17) fell to Young Harris (21-9) by a score of 18-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
After jumping out to an early 3-0 lead through five innings, the Lions gave up a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, but would respond in the seventh to bring the lead to 4-2. Jordan Lathe, Kyle Jenkins, and Tyler Lala accounted for the Lions' RBIs.
Young Harris put up 16 unanswered runs in the final two innings of play, hitting four home runs and totaling 20 hits on the afternoon to claim their 21st win of the season.
Of the seven arms that threw for the Lions, Max Poole was given the loss after entering the game in the eighth inning.
The Lions return to the diamond on Wednesday, March 30 as they play host to Lincoln Memorial. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
