MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (0-7, 0-5 SAC) was defeated by Anderson (5-2, 5-0 SAC) by a score of 75-61 Wednesday night inside Chambers Gymnasium.
Anderson carried a 10-point advantage into the second half, leading the Lions 35-25 after 20 minutes of play. The Trojans hit 50 percent of their shots in the second quarter, netting 18 points.
After being outscored 20-10 in the third, the Lions rallied to outscore Anderson 26-20 in the fourth, threatining a comeback trailing by nine with less than five minutes to play.
The Trojans dominated on the boards, pulling down 55 rebounds, 22 that were offensive. Anderson shot 40 percent from the floor, hitting just two three-pointers on 16 attempts. The Lions hit six threes, highlighted by De'Ja Marshall and Maddie Gillie's two apiece.
