Lions open second half of season on road versus Newberry

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (1-11, 1-9 SAC) was defeated by Newberry (3-11, 3-8 SAC) by a score of 71-46 Saturday afternoon.
In the Lions' first game since December 18, the team shot 35 percent from the floor and collected 28 rebounds. Newberry hit 44 percent of their shots, including 31 percent from beyond the arc all while pulling down 43 rebounds.
The Wolves led by 10 entering the half, but blew the game wide open in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 26-8. Mars Hill, in the final 10 minutes of play, outscored Newberry 14-11 to wrap up their first game of 2022.
