Rogers, Carolina Named to All-Coastal Plain League Team
Evan Rogers was named to the All-Coastal Plain League first team, while Rayshelon Carolina was named to the All-CPL second team
HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Mars Hill seniors Evan Rogers and Rayshelon Carolina have been named to the 2015 All-Coastal Plain League team, the league announced recently. Rogers earned first team honors at second base, while Carolina picked up second team accolades as an outfielder.
As a member of the Petit Cup champion Edenton Steamers, Rogers batted . 300 with 62 hits, 15 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 34 RB along with 16 stolen bases. In the field, Rogers had a .957 fielding percentage. Rogers was named a CPL mid-season All-Star for the second consecutive summer.
Playing for the Forest City Owls, Carolina hit .247 with 46 hits, five doubles, 10 RBI and 51 total bases while leading the CPL with 48 walks.
