Rogers, Carolina Named To 2016 NCBWA All-Southeast Region Preseason Team

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Mars Hill Lions Baseball team has landed two players on the 2016 NCBWA All-Southeast Region Preseason Poll.

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Mars Hill Lions Baseball team has landed two players on the 2016 NCBWA All-Southeast Region Preseason Poll. Rayshelon Carolina was garnered with a first-team nod as an outfielder, while shortstop Evan Rogers found himself on the second-team.

Carolina, a senior from Willemstad, Curacao, turned in a brilliant season a year ago for the Blue and Gold as he batted a team-high .407 while also leading the team, drawing 33 free bases. His 20 stolen bases on the year made him a threat anytime he reached base.

Rogers, a senior from Kernersville, N.C., also had a magnificent season for the Lions, scoring 50 runs to lead the team and hitting an impressive .359, while stealing 18 bases.

This recognition comes on the heels of both players being named to the 2015 All-Coastal Plain League Team and the All-Coastal Plain League All-Star Teams.

Third Base: Matthew De La Rosa, Lenoir-Rhyne

Shortstop: Ryan Perkins, Lenoir-Rhyne

Outfield: Clint Hardy, Augusta
