Lions continue to roll, sweep Coker
Mars Hill wins seventh straight in 3-0 win over Cobras
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (12-8, 9-4 SAC) defeated Coker (3-16, 2-11 SAC) in straight sets for their seventh straight win Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Lions recorded a match-high 17 kills in the first set, taking the frame 25-18 while hitting .255. They followed up their strong offensive attack in the second, hitting a match-high .324 with 15 kills on 34 swings.
Mars Hill, despite their lowest hitting percentage on the afternoon at .045, held the Cobras off late, taking the final set by a score of 25-23.
Timmons Yates led all players with 14 kills on 27 swings, hitting .481 on the day. Katilyn Grant added nine kills while Brooke Hoffman ended the day with eight.
Jada Cannon led all players with 25 digs followed by 18 from Laela Jimenez. Nikkayla Stewart led all players with four blocks and Mackenzie Schmucker led all players with 26 assists.
Mars Hill returns to the court on Wednesday, November 6 when they face Carson-Newman on the road. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
