Jimenez named SAC WePlayed Sports Defensive Player of the Week
This marks Jimenez's first POTW week honor of the season.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill libero Laela Jimenez was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Jimenez, a junior from Naples, Fla., helped the Lions to a 2-0 week with wins over Limestone and UVA Wise. In the pair of victories, Jimenez had 65 digs, good for 7.22 per set. She tallied 38 in a five-set win over Limestone and added 27 more in a four-set win over the Cavaliers. For the week, she added eight assists and two aces.
