Plougmand named SAC WePlayed Sports Offensive Player of the Week for fourth time
Plougmand sets new SAC record for most single season Player of the Week accolades.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill senior forward Peter Plougmand was once again named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
Plougmand, a senior from Odense, Denmark, erupted for five more goals last week to lead the Lions to wins over Emory & Henry and Catawba. Plougmand had a hat trick and added an assist for seven points against the Wasps and added a pair of goals in a 2-1 win over Catawba on the road. For the week, he registered five goals and an assist for 11 points.
He currently leads DII in goals (18) and points (42). This is the fourth time this season Plougmand has earned the honor and eighth time in his lauded career.
Since the conference's inception of Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in 2018, no men's soccer player has ever received the honor four times in a single season.
