Bayly nets two in Lions' shutout win over Tusculum

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (9-2-3, 6-2-2 SAC) secured a solid 2-0 victory over the Tusculum Pioneers (1-9-2, 1-6-2) Monday night inside Meares Stadium.
Sam Bayly opened the scoring in the 28th minute, drilling home a free kick from 20-yards out, inside the near, upper elbow.
In the 52nd minute, Bayly netted his second of the game. As Cam Watts slid a pass to the top of the box, Bayly blasted a shot past Noe Delmotte for his fifth of the season, extending the Lions' lead to two.
Mars Hill dominated the match, outshooting Tusculum 27-11 and earning eight corner kicks to Tusculum's two. Logan Cassel made four crucial saves, ensuring a clean sheet and stifling any hopes for a Tusculum comeback.
Peter Plougmand led all players with eight shot attempts followed by five from Bayly. Leonardo Sanches added four while Braxton Robinson and Adrian Faus each attempted three shots.
Mars Hill will host Limestone at home in Meares Stadium on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m. in their regular season finale.
