Mars Hill splits Saturday DH with Coker
The Mars Hill baseball team (14-26, 5-18 SAC) split with Coker (24-16, 15-8 SAC), falling in game one by a score of 12-9, but taking game two, 7-5.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (14-26, 5-18 SAC) split with Coker (24-16, 15-8 SAC), falling in game one by a score of 12-9, but taking game two, 7-5.
GAME ONE: COK 12, MHU 9
Back-to-back four run innings late helped the Cobras take game one.
Tied at four entering the top of the seventh, a pair of two-run doubles put the Cobras up 8-4. Two sacrifice flies in the eighth helped the Cobras build their lead to 12-5.
In the bottom of the ninth, Jaden James smashed a grand slam to pull the Lions within four. It was hit second home run on the day.
Coker led 2-0 after two, but in the third, Alex Naran's RBI groundout cut the lead in half. The teams traded solo home runs in the fourth. Once again, the teams hit home runs in the fifth with Paul Martin's two-run bomb tying the game at four.
James led all players with three hits and five RBI. Trey Putnam added two hits for the Lions.
Kody Hanna led the Cobras with three hits while Gabriel Santiago led the team with three RBI. Aaron Diaz picked up the win, allowing five runs on nine hits in 7.0 innings.
GAME TWO: MHU 7, COK 5
A four-run third inning propelled the Lions to the game two victory.
After opening the scoring in the first with the first of two Zach Weaver solo home runs, the Lions allowed two runs in the second. After the Cobras pulled within one heading into the bottom of the third, Weaver's RBI double was the catalyst for the four-run frame.
Paul Martin drove in two with a double while scoring off of a Jaden James' triple. In the bottom of the fifth, James picked up his second RBI of the game with a RBI single that once again plated Martin.
Weaver hit his second solo home run of the game in the bottom of the sixth.
Weaver and James went a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate while Weaver led all players with three RBI and runs scored. Martin and Toby Troutman added two hits apiece.
Grady Bivens earned his fourth win of the season, allowing three runs off of three hits. Landen Moore threw a perfect seventh inning for the save.
The teams wrap up the series on Sunday, April 14. First pitch at Henderson Field is set for 1 p.m.
