
Mars Hill hands YHC second loss of season
The Mars Hill baseball team (7-8) won their fourth straight game, downing Young Harris (13-2) by a score of 3-1 Tuesday afternoon.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (7-8) won their fourth straight game, downing Young Harris (13-2) by a score of 3-1 Tuesday afternoon.
Mars Hill plated two in the bottom of the first as Carter Potts' double scored Alex Naran and Zach Weaver.
After five scoreless innings, Young Harris' Jackson Kemp cut the lead in half with a solo home run.
Naran, in the bottom of the eighth, tacked on the insurance marker with a RBI single to center, plating Elec Yount.
Weaver and Potts led the Lions with two hits apiece while Potts led all players with two RBI. Peyton Kowalski allowed just two hits in 2.0 innings thrown in the start. Owen Bynum threw two hitless innings to record the save.
The Lions take to the road on Friday, March 1 when they open up their three-game series with Limestone in a return to South Atlantic Conference play. The single game is set for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
