The Mars Hill baseball team (7-11, 3-6 SAC) fell to Limestone (14-6, 7-2 SAC) in both games Sunday by scores of 11-2 and 11-0.

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (7-11, 3-6 SAC) fell to Limestone (14-6, 7-2 SAC) in both games Sunday by scores of 11-2 and 11-0.
GAME ONE: LU 11, MHU 2
The Saints recorded 11 runs on 10 hits in their game two victory, clinching the weekend series.
Leading 2-0 after four, Limestone tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by a Davis Turner RBI single. Mars Hill broke the shutout bid in the top of the sixth as Carter Potts singled to right field, plating Chris Bleeker.
In the top of the seventh, Elec Yount cut the Saints' lead down to three with a RBI single through the left side, scoring Chad Sikes. Limestone responded in the bottom of the frame, plating two runs.
Sion Barnette extended the lead to nine with a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth. Barnette led all players with five RBI while Turner and Davis Stone led all players with three hits apiece.
Six Lions recorded a hit on the day with Yount and Potts leading the team with a RBI apiece.
GAME TWO: LU 11, MHU 0
Limestone completed the weekend sweep, shutting the Lions out 11-0 in game three of the series.
The Saints used a seven-run third inning to cruise to the double-digit victory. Four RBI singles were hit in the inning. Leading 9-0 after five, Sion Barnette hit his second home run of the day in the bottom of the sixth, a two-run shot to left field.
Davis Turner led all players with three hits and three RBI in the contest. Carter Potts led the Lions with two of the team's five hits.
Mars Hill returns to the diamond when they host Erskine on Tuesday, March 5 at Henderson Field. The non-conference contest is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
